People are jaded by dating apps — too much time messaging, not enough time meeting up. Enter Roll, a location-based dating app that lets you choose where you want to go and match with people who want to go there too. 

The audience loved the idea, but not the brand. So they came to me, and I got my agency on board, and we gave them a brand that represents dating on the streets of NYC with a grass-roots launch.

We started from scratch, and used NYC’s map — the grid — as inspiration for both the new name and brand design.

Right before Valentine’s Day, we launched the app and took over popular Gen Z neighborhoods in NYC.

We dropped flyers and coasters at places featured on the app.

And brought warm blankets to single people waiting outside in the cold to get into bars.
